On a recent trip to Washington D.C., I toured the National Archives and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History for the first time. I was reminded of the early settlers and founders of this country who believed in an idea of what their home – America – should be. They put their lives on the line, and fought a grueling war for this idea. Now, 250 years later, I am blessed to work within the unique legal system created by our founders, fighting a different kind of war.
